Overview

Acetaminophen + ibuprofen is an oral fixed-dose combination of two well-known analgesics used for the short-term management of mild to moderate pain. Acetaminophen (also known as paracetamol) acts primarily as a central analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis peripherally. The combination leverages complementary mechanisms for enhanced pain relief compared to either agent alone. It is indicated for temporary relief of minor aches and pains such as headache, backache, toothache, menstrual cramps, muscle aches, or arthritis pain[1][2][4]. This product is available over-the-counter in several countries.
