Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A3 antioxidant combination is a synergistic formulation of three antioxidants: acetyl-L-carnitine (10 μmol/l), α-lipoic acid (5 μmol/l), and N-acetyl-L-cysteine (10 μmol/l). Developed by the University of Melbourne and commercialized by Vitrolife as part of their Gx Media series (including Gx-MOPS PLUS, Gx-IVF, and Gx-TL), this combination is designed to protect gametes and embryos from oxidative stress during in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) procedures. By mitigating reactive oxygen species (ROS) and supporting mitochondrial function, the A3 combination improves fertilization rates, particularly in ICSI, and increases the number of viable blastocysts available for transfer or cryopreservation.
