Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mr Strong Capsules is an over-the-counter (OTC) oral combination analgesic developed and manufactured by CAPS Holdings in Zimbabwe. It is formulated as a capsule containing 500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and caffeine. The combination is indicated for the fast-acting relief of mild to moderate pain, including headaches, and for the symptomatic treatment of colds, flu, and sore throat. Acetylsalicylic acid acts as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes to reduce pain, fever, and inflammation, while caffeine acts as an adjuvant stimulant that blocks adenosine receptors, enhancing the analgesic efficacy of the NSAID.
