Overview

AcSDKP-NH2 + Cr-EDTA is a combination of two distinct compounds: - **AcSDKP-NH2** (N-acetyl-seryl-aspartyl-lysyl-proline amide) is a synthetic tetrapeptide derivative of the naturally occurring peptide Ac-SDKP. Ac-SDKP is known for its antifibrotic and anti-inflammatory properties, particularly in the context of cardiovascular and renal diseases. It acts as an endogenous substrate for angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), which hydrolyzes it, thereby regulating its levels in tissues. Elevated levels of Ac-SDKP have been associated with reduced fibrosis and inflammation in organs such as the heart and kidneys[3][5]. Its mechanism involves inhibition of proinflammatory cytokines, chemokines, immune cell infiltration, and complement activation. - **Cr-EDTA** (chromium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is a chelated complex commonly used as a marker to assess glomerular filtration rate (GFR) due to its renal excretion profile. It does not have direct pharmacological activity but serves as a diagnostic tool. This combination does not represent an approved pharmaceutical product but may be used experimentally or analytically where both antifibrotic/anti-inflammatory effects (from AcSDKP-NH2) are studied alongside renal function assessment using Cr-EDTA.
