Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ad26.RSV.FA2 + Ad35.RSV.FA2 is an investigational combination vaccine candidate for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine comprises two non-replicating adenoviral vectors: Ad26.RSV.FA2 and Ad35.RSV.FA2, both designed to express the RSV F (fusion) protein antigen. Adenoviral vectors (serotypes 26 and 35) serve as platforms to induce robust humoral and cellular immune responses against RSV by delivering the gene encoding the prefusion RSV F protein to host cells, which then express the antigen and stimulate immunity. The approach aims to leverage the immunogenic potential of two distinct adenoviral backbones to reduce vector-specific immune interference and optimize the immune response to RSV. This combination is developed primarily for prophylactic use against RSV in populations at risk.
