Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**AD26.RSV.preF + influenza vaccine** is a combination of two vaccines: AD26.RSV.preF (an adenovirus serotype 26 vector–based vaccine encoding a prefusion-stabilized RSV fusion protein) and a high-dose seasonal influenza vaccine (commonly Fluzone-HD)[1][5]. AD26.RSV.preF stimulates humoral and cellular immunity against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), while the influenza vaccine elicits an antibody response to the influenza virus. This combination is primarily developed for coadministration in older adults, aiming to protect against both RSV and seasonal influenza. Mechanistically, AD26.RSV.preF delivers genetic material encoding the stabilized RSV fusion protein, inducing virus-neutralizing antibodies and Th1-skewed T-cell immunity[3]. The influenza vaccine provides immunity against circulating influenza strains by introducing antigens from these viruses.
