AD2C-Oncology is a preclinical-stage cell therapy being developed by Acepodia for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The therapy utilizes Acepodia's proprietary Antibody-Dependent Cell Conjugate (AD2C) platform, which employs bioorthogonal chemistry to chemically conjugate anti-GPC3 antibodies directly to the surface of immune effector cells (such as NK cells or T cells). This approach is designed to direct the immune cells to target and eliminate GPC3-expressing tumor cells without the need for viral-mediated genetic engineering. Glypican-3 (GPC3) is a validated oncofetal antigen overexpressed in over 70% of HCC cases, making it a highly specific target for this therapy. The AD2C platform aims to enhance the potency and specificity of cell therapies while simplifying the manufacturing process compared to traditional CAR-T or CAR-NK approaches.
