Adalimumab + standard anti-rheumatic therapy is a combination regimen in which **adalimumab**, a fully human monoclonal antibody targeting tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), is administered alongside conventional anti-rheumatic therapies for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. Standard anti-rheumatic therapy typically includes traditional disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) such as methotrexate, sulfasalazine, hydroxychloroquine, as well as low-dose corticosteroids, NSAIDs, and/or analgesics[1][7]. Adalimumab acts by binding to TNF-alpha, preventing its interaction with cell surface TNF receptors, thus inhibiting the inflammatory cascade associated with autoimmune arthritis[4][8]. When combined with standard anti-rheumatic therapy, this regimen has been shown in multiple clinical trials to enhance reduction of disease activity, improve physical function, and slow progression of joint damage, with an acceptable safety profile[1][3][5][7].
