Overview

Epiduo-Padagis LLC-acne vulgaris refers to a generic version of the brand-name drug Epiduo, developed and manufactured by Padagis LLC (formerly the generic division of Perrigo). It is a topical combination gel containing 0.1% adapalene, a third-generation retinoid, and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, an antimicrobial oxidizing agent. Adapalene works by binding to nuclear retinoic acid receptors (specifically RAR-beta and RAR-gamma) to normalize follicular epithelial cell differentiation and reduce comedone formation. Benzoyl peroxide provides bactericidal activity against *Cutibacterium acnes* through the release of free radical oxygen species and exhibits keratolytic properties. This combination therapy is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients aged 9 years and older.
