Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Adavosertib + cisplatin is a combination therapy consisting of adavosertib, a selective Wee1 kinase inhibitor, and cisplatin, a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent. Adavosertib prevents cells from arresting in G2 phase, forcing them to enter mitosis with unrepaired DNA damage, which enhances the cytotoxic effects of DNA-damaging agents like cisplatin. This combination has been studied primarily in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and other advanced solid tumors.
