ADCC + TACE is an investigational combination immunotherapy regimen being developed by Yuehua Huang for the treatment of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The regimen, termed 'Activated Dendritic-cells Combined Cyclophosphamide' (ADCC), involves autologous dendritic cells that are activated ex vivo by pulsing them with HBV-specific antigen peptides and HepG2 cell lysate. This cell-based therapy is designed to sensitize T cells to HCC antigens and overcome immune evasion. The dendritic cells are administered in combination with low-dose cyclophosphamide, which serves to modulate the tumor microenvironment by selectively depleting immunosuppressive regulatory T cells (Tregs). This immunotherapy is further combined with transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), a standard procedure that provides local chemotherapy and induces tumor necrosis. The combination is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials (NCT03086564) to determine its efficacy in prolonging survival for patients with advanced HBV-related HCC.
