adebrelimab + chemotherapy

Adebrelimab + chemotherapy is an investigational combination regimen being developed by Suzhou Suncadia Biopharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals) for the treatment of locally advanced resectable rectal cancer. The regimen consists of adebrelimab (SHR-1316), a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), and standard chemotherapy agents such as capecitabine and oxaliplatin. Adebrelimab works by blocking the interaction between PD-L1 and its receptors, PD-1 and B7.1, thereby restoring the anti-tumor activity of T cells. In the context of rectal cancer, this combination is typically administered in the perioperative setting alongside radiotherapy (chemoradiotherapy). It is currently being evaluated in a Phase II/III clinical trial (NCT05865873) to determine its efficacy in improving pathological complete response (pCR) rates and long-term survival outcomes compared to standard-of-care chemoradiotherapy alone.
