Overview
**adecatumumab + FOLFOX 4** is an experimental combination regimen of the monoclonal antibody adecatumumab (a human IgG1 antibody targeting epithelial cell adhesion molecule/EpCAM) with the established chemotherapy regimen FOLFOX 4 (consisting of folinic acid, fluorouracil, and oxaliplatin). Adecatumumab acts by binding EpCAM, an antigen broadly expressed on epithelial cancers, and may mediate antitumor effects via antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity and inhibition of tumor growth. FOLFOX 4 employs cytotoxic agents that disrupt DNA synthesis and cell division. This combination has been evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced cancers, where sequenced administration proved feasible and safe; no cumulative gastrointestinal toxicity was observed.
