Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Adenosine-2'-5'-diphosphate is a purine ribonucleotide in which two phosphate groups are attached to the ribose moiety at the 2' and 5' positions. It is a structural analog of NADP and can be used as an affinity ligand for purification of NADP-dependent enzymes. This compound is primarily used in biochemical research rather than as a pharmaceutical agent. Its mechanism of action involves mimicking natural nucleotides, allowing it to bind nucleotide-binding proteins or enzymes, particularly those that interact with NADP or related cofactors[1][9][3]. There are no known clinical indications or approvals for therapeutic use.
