Overview

This investigational cell therapy consists of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) being developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis vulgaris. AD-MSCs are multipotent adult stem cells isolated from adipose tissue that exhibit significant immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties. In clinical research (NCT03265613), these cells are administered via intravenous infusion, often as part of a combination regimen including topical calcipotriol and the traditional Chinese medicine formula PSORI-CM01. The therapy aims to modulate the immune-mediated inflammatory pathways characteristic of psoriasis pathogenesis by interacting with various immune cells, such as T cells, B cells, and natural killer (NK) cells, to reduce systemic and localized skin inflammation.
