The adjuvanted influenza A(H1N1)v vaccine is a monovalent inactivated influenza vaccine formulated to provide active immunization against the 2009 pandemic strain of influenza A(H1N1) virus. It contains an antigen derived from the hemagglutinin (HA) protein of the 2009 H1N1 virus and includes an oil-in-water emulsion adjuvant such as MF59 or AS03 to enhance immune response. The use of an adjuvant increases immunogenicity, allowing for stronger and more durable antibody responses compared to non-adjuvanted vaccines. This formulation was developed for rapid deployment during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic and has been used in various age groups, including children and adults[6][7]. The primary mechanism is induction of protective antibodies against the HA antigen of the H1N1 virus.
