Adsorbed diphtheria, tetanus and acellular pertussis (three-component) combined vaccine (DTcP), marketed under the trade name Tripecia®, is a next-generation component-based vaccine developed by CanSino Biologics. Unlike traditional co-purified acellular pertussis vaccines, Tripecia® is formulated with three individually purified and genetically engineered pertussis antigens—pertussis toxin (PT), filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA), and pertactin (PRN)—mixed in precise ratios with separately prepared diphtheria and tetanus toxoids. This component purification technology ensures high batch-to-batch consistency, stability, and a robust immune response while minimizing reactogenicity (such as fever). Tripecia® was approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in April 2026 for the active immunization of infants under 2 years of age against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis.
