Adsorbed diphtheria toxoid + inactivated poliovirus vaccine is an investigational combination vaccine developed by the Sichuan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention in China. It is a biologic vaccine containing adsorbed diphtheria toxoid and inactivated poliovirus (IPV) types 1, 2, and 3 as its active components. The vaccine is designed to elicit protective antibody responses against diphtheria and poliomyelitis. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials in China to assess its safety and immunogenicity in infants (2–24 months) and children (4–6 years), often compared against standard DTaP-IPV or DTaP-IPV-Hib combination vaccines. The biological targets are the diphtheria toxin (neutralized by anti-diphtheria toxoid antibodies) and poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3 (neutralized by anti-poliovirus antibodies).
