aflibercept + folinic acid + fluorouracil + oxaliplatin + irinotecan

This is a combination therapy that includes multiple anti-cancer agents. Aflibercept is a type of targeted therapy that works as an anti-angiogenic agent by acting as a soluble receptor decoy for VEGF and PlGF. Fluorouracil, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan are chemotherapy drugs that primarily target DNA synthesis (fluorouracil), cause DNA damage (oxaliplatin), or inhibit DNA replication/transcription (irinotecan) to destroy quickly dividing cells, such as cancer cells. Folinic acid (also called leucovorin or calcium folinate) is not a chemotherapy drug but is often given with fluorouracil to enhance its effectiveness. While components of this combination are used in standard regimens for metastatic colorectal cancer, the use of all five agents together is not a clearly described standard therapy.
