Ag-D-CIK is an autologous cellular immunotherapy developed by Shenzhen Hornetcorn Bio-technology Company, LTD, specifically for the treatment of gastric cancer. The therapy consists of two main components: dendritic cells (DCs) and cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells. The DCs are harvested from the patient and "pulsed" with autologous tumor lysate, which contains a broad spectrum of tumor-associated antigens, enabling the DCs to prime and activate tumor-specific T cells upon re-infusion. CIK cells are a heterogeneous population of effector lymphocytes, primarily CD3+CD56+ cells, generated by ex vivo expansion of peripheral blood mononuclear cells in the presence of cytokines like IFN-gamma and IL-2. These CIK cells possess potent, non-MHC-restricted cytotoxic activity against a variety of tumor cells. When used in combination with standard chemotherapy, Ag-D-CIK aims to eliminate residual disease and prevent recurrence in patients with stage I-III gastric cancer following radical gastrectomy.
