Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AHB-137 + hepatitis B vaccine is a combination investigational therapy for chronic hepatitis B comprised of AHB-137, a novel unconjugated antisense oligonucleotide (ASO), and a hepatitis B vaccine. AHB-137 is designed using AusperBio’s proprietary Med-Oligo™ ASO technology, targeting all HBV RNA transcripts to suppress viral replication and antigen expression. It promotes the breakdown of messenger RNA (mRNA) for key HBV proteins, leading to decreased viral protein production and boosting immune responses. Combination regimens with hepatitis B vaccine are explored to further increase functional cure rates by enhancing immune-mediated clearance and seroconversion. The therapy is under clinical development for chronic hepatitis B and is envisioned as a backbone regimen for functional cure, potentially allowing cessation of nucleos(t)ide analogue therapy[1][2][3][4][5].
