Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ADC118 (also known as ACC118 or by the brand name Ainuotai) is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) antiretroviral therapy developed by Jiangsu Aidea Pharmaceutical for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. It is the first triple-combination single-tablet regimen (STR) containing a domestically developed innovative drug (ainovirine) to be approved in China. The regimen consists of ainovirine (ACC017), a next-generation non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), combined with two nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), emtricitabine and tenofovir alafenamide fumarate (TAF). Ainovirine provides potent antiviral activity with a high genetic barrier to resistance and a superior safety profile, particularly regarding central nervous system and liver toxicity, compared to older NNRTIs like efavirenz. The FDC simplifies treatment to a once-daily single tablet, enhancing patient adherence and providing a complete antiretroviral regimen.
