AL-3778 + tenofovir disoproxil fumarate

AL-3778 + tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is an oral combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. AL-3778 (also known as NVR 3-778) is a first-in-class small molecule HBV core inhibitor that disrupts the core protein of the virus, resulting in aberrant capsid assembly and inhibition of HBV DNA replication. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) that inhibits HIV and HBV reverse transcriptase, thus blocking viral DNA synthesis. This combination aims to enhance antiviral efficacy by simultaneously targeting different stages of the HBV life cycle.
