Overview

Albumin-bound paclitaxel + carboplatin is a combination chemotherapy regimen being evaluated by Sun Yat-sen University for the treatment of cervical cancer. The regimen is the focus of the Phase 3 N6C trial, which investigates its efficacy and safety as neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by chemoradiation in patients with stage IIIC cervical cancer. Albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) is a solvent-free formulation of paclitaxel that utilizes nanoparticle technology to improve drug delivery to tumors while minimizing hypersensitivity reactions. Carboplatin is a platinum-based cytotoxic agent that induces DNA damage through the formation of cross-links. This combination aims to improve clinical outcomes by reducing tumor burden and targeting systemic disease prior to definitive local therapy.
