Overview

This combination regimen consists of albumin-bound paclitaxel, carboplatin, apatinib, and camrelizumab. It is being investigated as a treatment for salivary gland carcinoma, specifically within a Phase 2 umbrella trial sponsored by Peking Union Medical College. The regimen combines cytotoxic chemotherapy (paclitaxel and carboplatin) with targeted therapy (apatinib) and immunotherapy (camrelizumab). Albumin-bound paclitaxel (nab-paclitaxel) is a microtubule inhibitor that prevents cancer cell division. Carboplatin is a platinum-based alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication. Apatinib is a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that selectively targets VEGFR-2, thereby inhibiting tumor angiogenesis. Camrelizumab is a monoclonal antibody that blocks the PD-1 receptor, enhancing the immune system's ability to detect and destroy tumor cells.
