The drug combination "albumin-bound paclitaxel + carboplatin + toripalimab" is a therapeutic regimen combining three medications for cancer treatment, primarily non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Albumin-bound paclitaxel (also known as nab-paclitaxel or Abraxane) is a solvent-free formulation of paclitaxel using albumin for delivery. It allows for less premedication, shorter infusion time, higher doses, and potentially better tumor penetration. Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy drug that interferes with DNA replication. Toripalimab is a monoclonal antibody and PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor. This combination therapy works by leveraging multiple mechanisms: albumin-bound paclitaxel disrupts microtubule function, carboplatin damages DNA, and toripalimab enhances the immune system's ability to target cancer cells. The combination of albumin-bound paclitaxel with carboplatin is an approved first-line treatment for unresectable NSCLC. The addition of toripalimab adds an immunotherapy component aimed at enhancing efficacy.
