Overview

Albuterol + fluticasone propionate (formerly known as TEV-56248) is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) inhalation therapy developed by Teva for the treatment of asthma. It combines albuterol sulfate, a short-acting beta-2 agonist (SABA) that provides rapid bronchodilation for symptom relief, with fluticasone propionate, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) that reduces airway inflammation for long-term disease control. This combination is designed to be used as a rescue medication that simultaneously addresses acute bronchoconstriction and the underlying inflammatory response, aligning with modern treatment strategies that favor ICS-containing relievers to prevent severe asthma exacerbations.
