Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of alectinib, a highly selective ALK inhibitor, and atezolizumab, a PD-L1 inhibitor. Alectinib targets the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), which drives tumor growth in some cases of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Atezolizumab is a monoclonal antibody that blocks PD-L1, preventing it from binding to PD-1 receptors on T cells, thereby enhancing T-cell activation and anti-tumor immune responses. The combination aims to leverage both targeted therapy and immunotherapy mechanisms to potentially enhance efficacy beyond what either agent could achieve alone.
