Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alemtuzumab + G-CSF is a combination therapy consisting of alemtuzumab—a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD52 on lymphocytes—and granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF), a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the production and function of neutrophils. Alemtuzumab induces antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity and complement-mediated lysis of CD52-expressing cells. The addition of G-CSF aims to enhance neutrophil-mediated cytotoxicity and potentially boost the efficacy of alemtuzumab by increasing effector cell numbers. This combination has been investigated in relapsed or refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia and chronic lymphocytic leukemia to improve response rates by leveraging both direct immune cell depletion and enhanced innate immune activity[1][2][3].
