Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alin Depot is a sustained-release injectable formulation of dexamethasone isonicotinate, a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid. Developed by Chinoin, it is designed to provide prolonged anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. The formulation utilizes microcrystalline technology to allow slow, continuous, and regulated release of the active drug into the systemic circulation over a period of up to 14 days following a single intramuscular injection. Dexamethasone isonicotinate acts as an agonist of the glucocorticoid receptor, modulating gene expression to suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines and enhance anti-inflammatory mediators. It is approved for the treatment of various acute and chronic inflammatory, allergic, and rheumatic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, eczema, and dermatitis, in both human and veterinary medicine.
