While other triple combinations with similar classes (such as amlodipine + valsartan + hydrochlorothiazide) are FDA-approved, there is no current evidence for FDA approval or marketed products specifically containing aliskiren + valsartan + chlorthalidone[4]. Aliskiren + valsartan (Valturna) was previously marketed but discontinued in 2012 due to safety concerns, especially in patients with diabetes and renal impairment[2]. Chlorthalidone is favored in some large outcome trials due to superior efficacy over hydrochlorothiazide[1].
