Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Paknet C (also marketed as Paknet C Gel) is a topical combination dermatological formulation developed by Percos India. It contains clindamycin (1% w/w), niacinamide (nicotinamide, 4% w/w), and allantoin (0.5% w/w). Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that targets the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit to inhibit protein synthesis and reduce populations of *Cutibacterium acnes*. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and sebum regulator, helping to reduce redness, swelling, and oil production. Allantoin serves as a skin protectant and keratolytic agent, promoting cell proliferation, soothing irritation, and aiding in skin healing and the reduction of acne scars. Paknet C is primarily indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris in adults and adolescents.
