Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Allisartan isoproxil + indapamide is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive therapy developed by Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals. It combines allisartan isoproxil, an angiotensin II type 1 receptor blocker (ARB) that acts as a prodrug and converts to the active metabolite EXP3174 in vivo, with indapamide, a thiazide-like diuretic. The combination targets two mechanisms: inhibition of the renin–angiotensin system via AT1 receptor antagonism and promotion of natriuresis/diuresis through sodium reabsorption inhibition in the distal tubule. This dual action provides synergistic blood pressure reduction and improved control rates compared to monotherapy. The product has been evaluated in phase III clinical trials for essential hypertension, demonstrating efficacy and safety comparable or superior to monotherapies[1][2][3][7].
