Adipose-derived stem cells + fibrin gel is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy developed by the Medical University of Warsaw for the treatment of chronic wounds in diabetic foot syndrome. The product consists of allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) suspended in a fibrin gel carrier, which acts as a scaffold for the cells. Classified as an Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP), it is applied topically to the wound site. The therapy exerts its therapeutic effects through proangiogenic and immunomodulatory mechanisms, promoting wound healing and tissue regeneration. In a Phase 1/2 clinical trial (1ABC), the treatment demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing wound size and achieving complete healing compared to fibrin gel alone.
