Overview

This investigational cell therapy consists of allogeneic human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) derived from the umbilical cord. It is being evaluated by Dr. Bernard (Barry) Baumel at the University of Miami for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. The therapy involves the intravenous infusion of approximately 100 million cells per dose, typically administered in a series of four infusions. The mechanism of action is believed to be multifactorial, involving immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties that target neuroinflammation, cerebrovascular dysfunction, and neurodegeneration. As an academic investigational product, it does not currently have a commercial brand name.
