Allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) developed by Biocells Medical are an investigational cell therapy being evaluated for the treatment of complex neuroinflammatory conditions, including autoimmune encephalitis, early-stage panencephalitis, and neuroinflammatory demyelination. MSCs are multipotent stromal cells characterized by their potent immunomodulatory and regenerative properties. When administered intravenously, these cells migrate toward sites of tissue injury and inflammation, where they exert therapeutic effects through paracrine signaling. They secrete a broad array of bioactive molecules, including anti-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors, which modulate the activity of T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes, and microglia. This action aims to suppress aberrant immune responses, reduce neuroinflammation, and support the repair of the central nervous system in patients with autoinflammatory or post-infectious neurological syndromes.
