Overview

Alpha-lactalbumin + chamomile is a combination of two bioactive substances—alpha-lactalbumin, a major whey protein found in milk, and extracts from the chamomile plant. This combination has been studied primarily for its potential anticancer properties and as a nutraceutical with possible anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) effects. In preclinical studies, an alpha-lactalbumin-coated chamomile nano-emulsion demonstrated selective cytotoxicity against breast cancer cells while sparing normal cells. The mechanism appears to involve modulation of oxidative stress responses, enhancement of immune function, reduction of inflammation, and promotion of apoptosis in tumor cells[1]. Alpha-lactalbumin itself may increase brain tryptophan levels and serotonin synthesis, potentially reducing stress or depressive moods[6][7]. Chamomile is known for its antioxidant activity and possible modulation of neurotransmitter systems.
