Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination dietary supplement containing three antioxidants: alpha-lipoic acid (ALA), alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Each component acts as an antioxidant but with different solubility profiles—ALA is both water- and fat-soluble, vitamin E is fat-soluble, and vitamin C is water-soluble. Together, they provide broad-spectrum antioxidant protection by neutralizing free radicals in various cellular compartments. Alpha-lipoic acid also helps regenerate other antioxidants such as vitamins C and E after they have been oxidized. This combination has been studied for its potential to protect cells from oxidative stress, modulate lipid metabolism, support nerve health (especially in diabetic neuropathy), and possibly enhance the effects of each individual component through synergistic action[1][2][4]. It has also been explored in integrative oncology settings for adjunctive cancer care[2], though robust clinical evidence for disease-specific benefits remains limited.
