Overview

**ALTH12-2:4** is an investigational rectal enema formulation developed by Altheus Therapeutics for left-sided ulcerative colitis. It combines the antioxidant and glutathione precursor **N-acetylcysteine** with the locally acting 5-aminosalicylic acid anti-inflammatory agent **mesalamine**. ALTH12-2:4 was evaluated in a completed Phase 1 randomized, comparator-controlled study assessing single-dose and six-week repeat-dose safety and tolerability versus mesalamine enema.
