Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**ALXN2050 + fluconazole** is a combination of ALXN2050, an investigational small molecule inhibitor developed for generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG), and fluconazole, a widely-used triazole antifungal agent marketed as Diflucan. ALXN2050 selectively inhibits the alternative pathway of complement C5 activation, reducing destructive immune activity implicated in autoimmune conditions. Fluconazole exerts its antifungal activity by inhibiting fungal cytochrome P450 (CYP51), impairing ergosterol synthesis and fungal cell membrane formation. In drug-drug interaction trials, fluconazole may affect ALXN2050 pharmacokinetics due to its action as a CYP2C9, CYP3A4, and CYP2C19 inhibitor, potentially increasing exposure to ALXN2050.
