Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Alzer + Diamel is a combination of two nutritional supplements developed by Catalysis S.L. for the management of diabetic complications, specifically diabetic macular edema (DME). Alzer is an antioxidant-rich supplement containing ingredients such as Ginkgo biloba, alpha-lipoic acid, and vitamins, which are intended to reduce oxidative stress and provide neuroprotection to the retina. Diamel is a metabolic regulator containing amino acids (like arginine and glycine), vitamins, and minerals (such as zinc and magnesium) designed to improve glycemic control and insulin sensitivity. The combination therapy aims to provide a synergistic effect by addressing both the metabolic dysregulation and the resulting oxidative damage associated with diabetes. It has been evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for its efficacy in treating mild to moderate macular edema.
