Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AmbAgon Therapeutics is developing a small molecule 14-3-3 molecular glue stabilizer for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. This candidate, currently in the target validation stage of preclinical development, functions by stabilizing the protein-protein interaction between 14-3-3 adapter proteins and a specific structural protein involved in vesicle trafficking and neurotransmitter release. By enhancing or restoring the stability of these complexes, the drug aims to modulate the function of the target protein to address synaptic dysfunction and transport deficits characteristic of neurodegeneration. The program is being developed in collaboration with academic experts and targets a biological pathway with existing clinical competition.
