Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sinarest Levo New is an approved, prescription-only oral fixed-dose combination tablet developed and marketed by Centaur Pharmaceuticals in India. It contains two active ingredients: levocetirizine (5 mg), a second-generation, non-sedating H1-receptor antagonist, and ambroxol (60 mg), a mucolytic agent. Levocetirizine selectively blocks histamine H1 receptors to alleviate allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and itching. Ambroxol acts as a secretolytic and mucokinetic agent, thinning and loosening thick mucus in the airways by stimulating surfactant production and modulating glucosylceramidase activity, which facilitates expectoration. Together, this combination is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of productive cough associated with allergic respiratory conditions, including allergic rhinitis, common cold, bronchitis, sinusitis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
