Overview
Ambroxol + levodropropizine is a fixed-dose combination of two small molecule drugs used for the symptomatic treatment of cough and respiratory conditions associated with excessive or thick mucus. Ambroxol acts as an expectorant and mucolytic, thinning and breaking down phlegm to facilitate its removal from the airways. It also has local anesthetic properties that can relieve sore throat discomfort. Levodropropizine is a peripherally acting antitussive agent that suppresses cough by inhibiting sensory nerve activation in the airways without central nervous system effects, making it well tolerated compared to centrally acting antitussives. The combination targets both mucus clearance (ambroxol) and cough suppression (levodropropizine), providing dual relief in acute or chronic respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchiectasis, asthma with productive cough, and other inflammatory pulmonary conditions[1][2][3][4].
