Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Depex-LS is a fixed-dose combination syrup containing ambroxol, levosalbutamol, and guaifenesin, developed by Alde Medi Impex. It is indicated for the symptomatic relief of productive cough, chest congestion, and bronchospasm associated with respiratory tract disorders such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic agent that thins and loosens thick, viscous mucus, facilitating its clearance from the airways. Levosalbutamol is a selective beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that acts as a bronchodilator, relaxing bronchial smooth muscle to improve airflow and ease breathing. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of respiratory tract secretions, making coughs more productive. Together, these three active ingredients work synergistically to clear chest congestion and improve respiratory function.
