ametumumab + FOLFIRI

Ametumumab + FOLFIRI is a combination therapy consisting of the recombinant fully human monoclonal antibody ametumumab and the standard chemotherapy regimen FOLFIRI. Ametumumab (also known as SY-101) targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), inhibiting the binding of ligands such as EGF and TGF-alpha, thereby blocking downstream signaling pathways (MAPK, PI3K/Akt) involved in tumor cell proliferation and survival. FOLFIRI is a combination of folinic acid (leucovorin), fluorouracil (5-FU), and irinotecan. Irinotecan acts as a DNA topoisomerase I inhibitor, while fluorouracil is an antimetabolite that inhibits thymidylate synthase. This combination is primarily developed for the treatment of RAS wild-type advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer, aiming to provide a more effective and potentially safer alternative to existing anti-EGFR regimens like cetuximab plus FOLFIRI.
