Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy of amiodarone (a class III antiarrhythmic) and propranolol (a nonselective beta-blocker) used primarily for treating life-threatening and drug-resistant cardiac arrhythmias. Amiodarone blocks potassium currents during cardiac repolarization, while propranolol blocks beta-adrenergic receptors. When used together, they demonstrate synergistic effects in controlling tachyarrhythmias, particularly in cases where amiodarone alone is insufficient.
