Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Amitriptyline + propranolol** is an oral fixed-dose combination of two small molecules used principally for migraine prophylaxis. Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant that inhibits neuronal norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake, while propranolol is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker. The complementary pharmacology is intended to reduce migraine frequency and may be useful where migraine coexists with tension-type headache features. Marketed Indian products include extended-release tablet presentations such as Health N U's AmNuriteBeta. ([1mg.com](https://www.1mg.com/generics/amitriptyline-propranolol-405636))
