amlodipine + atorvastatin + chlorthalidone

KI-1125 (Amvastin Q) is a fixed-dose triple combination therapy developed by Kuhnil Pharmaceutical for the simultaneous management of essential hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. It contains three active pharmaceutical ingredients: amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker; atorvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin); and chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic. Amlodipine promotes vasodilation by inhibiting calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle, while chlorthalidone reduces blood volume by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidney. Atorvastatin lowers lipid levels by inhibiting the endogenous synthesis of cholesterol in the liver. This combination is designed to improve patient compliance by reducing the pill burden for individuals requiring multi-drug regimens for cardiovascular risk factors. It was approved by the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in February 2022.
