Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aracure Plus is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication containing three active ingredients: candesartan cilexetil (an angiotensin II receptor blocker), amlodipine besylate (a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker), and hydrochlorothiazide (a thiazide diuretic). Developed and marketed by Cardiotech Pharmaceutical, it is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, particularly in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy or dual-combination therapies. By combining three distinct mechanisms of action—vasodilation via calcium channel blockade, inhibition of angiotensin II-mediated vasoconstriction, and promotion of diuresis and natriuresis—Aracure Plus provides synergistic blood pressure reduction and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.
